The Standard Shop comprises a complete set of modules allowing the shop to match even the most popular and komplex online shops of digital goods.


Structure of the Standard Shop

The modules can be designed and structured in several different ways in order to fulfil the target group’s expectations in addition to online music, audiobook and movie shops the best possible way.

Presentations of Albums, Tracks and Movies

  • United Metadata Browsing
    Searching for any artist, all available content is presented to you on the screen - movies and music. Every cover leads to product information and the opportunity to add an album, a movie or a track to the shopping basket.

  • Movie Cover Presentations
    Four movies may be structured in two categories - “Movies to download” and “Movies to rent”. Every cover leads to product information and the opportunity to add the film to the shopping basket.

  • Audiobook Presentations
    One category with three audiobooks may be structured as “Genres”, “News”, or other.
  • Hit lists
      Top 5 Songs
      Top 5 Albums
      Top 5 Movies
  • Promotion field with banner promoting current products.

  • Covers and hit lists on the front page lead directly to the relevant artwork where you are given the opportunity to add the hole movie, audiobook, or album. It is also possible to add single music tracks to the shopping basket.
  • Presentation of search results for artists, tracks, or genre.

Help Function / Guides

  • A list of frequently asked questions and answers followed by a link to a support function.
  • Description of how the shop functions.
  • A test file which can be downloaded to test if audio files bought in the shop function on the customer’s PC.
  • This module allows the customer to recover purchased files up to 3 times

Customer Account

With the customer account the customer can by means of login see an overview of which products he has bought. In addition, the customer has the opportunity to ”fill up" via credit card, gift certificate, or web banking.

Browsing and Searches

  • Via browsing of genres (Jazz, children’s music, pop, rock etc.).
  • Via browsing of artists in alphabetic order.
  • Via free text search (movie, album and music title, artist and composer’s first name and surname, band name).The search supports known Boolean operators such as Michael + Jackson in the form of the entry ”Michael Jackson”.
  • The shop also registers the most popular searches which is made available through a so called ‘search cloud’. The box uses letter size to indicate search popularity.
  • Via an overview on the shop front page, for example arranged with three rows of covers on:
      New releases
      Popular
      Most sold

Download and Play

  • Downloaded audio files (music and audiobooks) can be played with MS Mediaplayer 9 or later versions.
  • Movies can be played with MS Media player 10 or later versions.
  • When the customer has paid he is introduced to a list of purchases which he can download individually or, in the case of audio files, click on ”Download all files” which fetches all files.
  • If the customer buys and collects a movie or an audio file from the Standard Shop, he will be asked where on the computer he wishes to store the music file.
  • The customer may – free of charge – choose to listen to a 30-second sound clip of the selected music file or the chapters in a selected book. A pop-up music player will then open in a HTML pop-up window (based on embedded Windows Media Player 6.4+).
  • Pop-up music player:
      Shows picture and name of track, album and artist.
      Contains functions such as Start, Stop, Pause, Volume.

Payment

When the customer has selected the artworks he wishes to purchase or rent (added them to the shopping basket) he has the opportunity to buy the music by performing two steps:

  • The customer can pay by means of all current payment systems such as Visa and Visa Electron, MasterCard, gift certificate, customer account, campaign codes and current web banks (payment types depending on distributors payment system).
  • Clearing in relation to payment system provider is executed via encryption as required.
  • Subsequently, the customer is to enter his e-mail address which is used for registration of the customer. The registration enables e-mail receipt and recovery of the music files.
  • The Standard Shop also includes a gift certificate function where the customer can buy an electronic gift certificate which he can send to a friend via e-mail. The customer himself can decide which amount to enter on the Gift Certificate.
  • Purchase of music, movies, or audiobooks with gift certificate: When purchasing products from the Standard Shop, the customer will have the opportunity to choose gift certificate as means of payment in line with i.e. visa card. After login the customer can see how much is left on the gift certificate.
  • The end user can enter campaign codes and use these as payment in the shop.
  • The portal owner can generate new campaign codes for new campaigns
